Plant It Forward

What is Plant It Forward?

In partnership with the Gardens on Spring Creek, the Food Bank for Larimer County launched "Plant It Forward" in 2011 in an effort to increase our local produce donations from backyard gardeners and local farms. All community members are invited and challenged to plant an extra row in their backyard garden, and as the produce becomes available, to drop it off at either the Food Bank for Larimer County (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm) or at the Gardens on Spring Creek, 2145 Centre Avenue, (Saturday 9 am-4 pm; Sunday Noon-5 pm). No donation is too small! In 2013, local gardeners donated over 11,000 pounds of fresh produce. This year's goal is 15,000! For more information, please contact Susan Kelly, Food Resource Manager, 970.530.3112.

Neighborhood Champions Make Donating Even Easier

New this year, Plant It Forward has recruited neighborhood champions who have offered their home or business as drop off location so that those who cannot make it to The Gardens or the Food Bank will still be able to donate. Find a champion near you at . Look for the designated Plant It Forward yard sign and produce bin.
