Volunteer-You Make the Difference!

About our Volunteer Program:
The Food Bank for Larimer County's volunteers helped us collect, sort, repack and distribute over 5 million pounds of food last year. This feat would not have happened without their help in our warehouse, Food Share, Kids Cafe, Food Link, food drives and fundraisers. Their service of 23,000 hours equals the time of 11 full-time employees and an in-kind value of $431,710.
The Food Bank has many volunteer opportunities available year-round for kids 10 and over, teenagers, adults and families. It's a wonderful way to meet new people and to give back to your community. We also welcome groups to the Food Bank. Group slots are limited, so please call for availability. By volunteering together as a business or organization you can have an enjoyable and rewarding team-building experience. We also accept service-learning students and court-referred volunteers.
We have regular volunteer opportunities Monday through Friday in our warehouse, office and Kids Cafe program and Tuesday through Saturday in our Food Share program. There are also special evening and weekend volunteer opportunities available by contacting Charlene Olms, Volunteer & Development Coordinator.
Volunteer Orientation:
Individuals wanting to become a regular volunteer must attend a Volunteer Orientation. To get a schedule of upcoming orientation dates and times, please contact Charlene Olms, Volunteer & Development Coordinator, at (970) 530-3113, colms@foodlbanklarimer.org, or fill out our online Volunteer Application and our volunteer coordinator will contact you.

1. Please eat and drink in break rooms only. If you smoke, please do so outside.

5. Take your time as accidents occur when hurrying. When working in the warehouse, watch for the forklift.

7. Keep work areas neat to avoid slipping on wet surfaces and/or tripping over boxes.
8. Wash hands before handling food, and after eating, smoking or using the restroom.
9. First Aid Kits are located in the Operations Manager's office and the repack room.
10. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age to volunteer with a parent or guardian and 16 or older to volunteer alone.
