While food and financial donations can be quantified, the impact they have on the lives of hungry people is immeasurable. The generosity of our supporters enables the Food Bank for Larimer County to provide not only nutritious food, but relief and hope to people in need. Thanks to the many food, financial and in-kind donations, the Food Bank provided more than 5.6 million pounds of food to people in need in 2007! We are thankful we are able to help our neighbors in need, and we are truly grateful for your continued support and belief in our mission to create a hunger-free Larimer County.
Our Mission Our mission is to reduce hunger in Larimer County, Colorado through programs that collect, process, store and distribute food to individuals and in cooperation with agencies that serve those in need. In 2006, we reduced hunger by distributing 5 million pounds of donated and surplus food from the food industry, government commodities, food drives and other sources to disadvantaged Larimer County residents through our three primary programs: Food Share, Food Link and Kids Cafe. Single-parent families, the working poor, senior citizens, youth in crisis, the disabled and the homeless utilize these much needed programs, and nearly half of those we serve are children.
