FAQs

How do I begin volunteering?
Fill out a Volunteer Questionnaire. Our Volunteer Manager will review and then contact you regarding open opportunities and upcoming orientation at the Food Bank.

Can volunteers drop-in to help?
Although we love our volunteers enthusiasm, we cannot accept drop-in hours. To ensure we have enough projects and space, volunteers need to schedule their hours with the Volunteer Manager in advance.

What are your age requirements?
Children ages 10-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Young adults 16 years and older may volunteer without a supervising adult.

Do you accept groups?
Yes, we gladly accommodate groups up to 15 people in our warehouse. Group slots are limited so please call the Volunteer Manager, 970.530.3113 for availability. Orientation is not required.

Are there weekend/evening options?
Yes. Most of our special events and food drives are held in the evening or on weekends.

Do you accept court-referred community service volunteers?
Yes, court referred volunteers must be at least 18 years old and need to contact Josh Johnson, Warehouse Volunteer Coordinator, 970.530.3107 for scheduling.

Can Food Share clients volunteer?
No, due to conflicts of interest, those who receive food assistance from the Food Bank may not volunteer.
