Child Nutrition Act Update

On December 2, the House passed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (S. 3307) by a vote of 264 to 157.  The bill now goes to President Obama, who will sign the bill into law. This historic victory for hungry children could not have happened without dedicated hunger relief advocates.  Feeding America advocates delivered more than 50,000  emails, letters, phone calls, and faxes to Congress in support of this important legislation.  Thank you for standing up and taking action! However, the fight is not over.  We must continue to keep up the pressure on Congress to restore the SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) that were cut.  In the meantime, help us recruit new advocates by spreading the word!
