Plant It Forward

In partnership with the Gardens on Spring Creek, the Food Bank for Larimer County has launched "Plant It Forward" in an effort to increase our local produce donations from backyard gardeners and local farms. All community members are invited and challenged to plant an extra row in their backyard garden, and as the produce becomes available to drop it off at either the Food Bank for Larimer County (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm) or at the Gardens on Spring Creek, 2145 Centre Avenue, (Saturday 9 am-4 pm; Sunday Noon-5 pm). No donation is too small! In 2012, over 20,000 pounds of fresh produce was donated by local gardeners. For more information, please contact Karen McManus, Food Resource Manager, 970.530.3105.

"Boots in the Garden"

For the past three years, Dr. Jamart (Dr. J), a retired dentist, has been growing fresh produce in his backyard for the Food Bank. Dr. J regularly works 40 hours per week in his garden. This year, his goal is to provide 1,800 pounds of produce. Read more about Dr. J's garden.
