The Capital Campaign: Larimer Shares

Larimer Shares - Growing to Feed the Need is the Food Bank for Larimer County's capital campaign to expand food assistance and outreach in southern Larimer County. The FBLC has re-located Loveland Food Share, a direct service food pantry, formerly located at 245 S. Madison Avenue, to the former Ferrero Paint & Collision Repair building at 2600 N. Lincoln Avenue.

The $2.2 million dollar Larimer Shares fundraising campaign has secured $2.2 million from foundations and other private individual donors. Vaught Frye Larson Architects, Inc., 401 W. Mountain Ave, was Architect, and a local Loveland contractor, DS Constructors, provided preconstruction and general contractor services.

The new facility is 16,040 square feet (5x the size of the former location) and will offer a new market-like pantry, staff offices, warehouse storage, truck docks, and the ability to accept community food drives collections.  It has the ability to accommodate more than 20,000 clients and 5 million pounds of food annually. It also offers ample parking and three acres of land for future expansion.

The pantry has completed final renovations and opened for client service in on August 30. Client shopping hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A public grand opening celebration is slated for Friday, September 23 at 3:30 pm, and all community members and supporters are invited to attend. Light refreshments and tours will be provided.

Benefits of a New Loveland Food Share:
